Notes: "Armi Sport" manufactured Rifle Muskets may not be modified in this manor. All of the above conversions require a complete new lock. They are drilled and taped for original screws and internal parts. Many of these locks are getting very hard to obtain, please request availability. (Price does not include stock re-finishing.) All your parts will be returned. Your firearm must be shipped to me to complete the work. The firearm must be UNLOADED or a $100.00 fee will be added to your billing. It must be CLEANED or a $50.00 cleaning fee will be charged to you for that service. A clean gun is most important if barrel requires re-breeching as Model conversions may require. Your gun will be returned to you in the same box that you shipped it. The shipping box must be in good condition when you send it to me. (See end of this document for more shipping information.)
All Italian made repro stocks are over sized. They have humps, bumps and shoulders that should not be there. A properly re-finished stock can make your firearm look custom made. I re-finish these so the wood fits the metal parts as per the Armory Specifications for that model. This one small modification can make the difference in the overall authenticity of your firearm. $300.00
Pre carved gun stocks are also available for just about any model US Military firearm you can think of. These are one piece American Black Walnut. $275.00
Museum Quality Reproduction Built From "NEW" Repro Guns - I buy the gun and build one of the following. All are built up from Euroarms manufactured Rifle Muskets.
1861 Springfield into early or late 1855 Harpers Ferry or $1,250.00
Springfield Rifle Musket, your choice $1,250.00
1861 Springfield into early or late C S Richmond Rifle Musket,
Your choice $1,250.00
Historical Note: The greatest majority of 3-band Richmond Rifle Muskets were manufactured with Iron butt plates. Only a few originals are known with brass butt plates.
1863 C S Richmond into an early model Richmond Rifled Musket $1,250.00
1853 Enfield (see P-1853 Enfield section)
Notes: Each of these comes with all new parts required to make the custom conversion. The stocks are refinished to meet with the original contours and specification. Each firearm will come complete with tompion and the proper leather or canvas sling your choice. I do not "defarb" the firearm in any other manor. A 50% deposit is required when ordering!
Notes: The key to these firearms is in their barrels and of course the rifling. Currently my cost for a custom barrel is $350.00 without sights! Some barrel makers have a 6-month waiting list. So, if you have a specific bore diameter or rate of twist that you want on your rifle or rifle musket you must plan ahead. Custom, Target grade barrels maybe ordered. Call or write for availability.
Generally speaking the original Rifle Muskets, (3 banders) with 40" barrels have a one full turn in 72" of barrel length or 1 in 72" rate of twist. Rifles, guns with 33" barrels, have a 1 in 66" or 1 in 56" rate of twist.
Most modern made firearms have a 1 in 48 rate of twist. This rate of twist was established to accommodate a wide variety of projectiles that might be shot in the modern firearms. Muzzle loading Civil War firearms only shot the conical hollow base Mine ball.
I start out acquiring all the proper parts for that Model gun, that I need to build the firearm. Once I have these parts I can start putting them together. I build the firearm from this assemblage of parts. The usage of original parts such a locks, may cause the price to in crease as much as 25%. Original parts must be in good enough condition that when you receive the firearm, it will be in "like new"Armory condition.
Many of the rifled Military muzzle loading firearms can be custom built new. Some of the firearms pictured in the following section have been selected because they are not, as of yet Nor are they likely to ever be reproduced. Originals are very rare and highly sought after by shooters for their accuracy and authenticity. A minimum 50% deposit is required before work order can be confirmed!

Historical Notes: The current Enfield reproductions are of Post Civil War type. . They are in fact Fourth Pattern Enfield. This was the first fully interchangeable arm produced by the British Government and few saw service in America During the War. This is the Pattern Arm the British converted to the Snider Breech Loading System.
The parts (mostly the proper barrel band) to convert these to Civil War period are available from time to time. However, finding a reliable source that is of high enough quality is at best hit or miss. Write, call or e-mail me to inquire about what I have on hand.
All above-mentioned firearms are capable of being approved by the N-SSA Small Arms Committee.
